We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic ECT Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Braintree. This full-time, permanent role is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to develop their teaching skills within a supportive and high-achieving science department.
As an ECT Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, fostering students' scientific curiosity and analytical thinking. You will receive structured mentoring and professional development, ensuring a strong foundation for your teaching career.
This role is ideal for an Early Career Teacher looking to establish themselves in Science education, with access to comprehensive induction support and ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging and interactive Science lessons, aligned with the national curriculum.
2. Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to specialise.
3. Inspire students to develop investigative and problem-solving skills through practical experiments.
4. Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations.
5. Use creative and inclusive teaching strategies to engage learners of all abilities.
6. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum.
7. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
8. Promote positive behaviour management strategies to encourage student engagement.
9. Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT status.
2. A strong knowledge of the Science curriculum, including GCSE and A-Level standards.
3. Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
4. A passion for delivering engaging and practical Science lessons.
5. Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
