Job Description - Floating Housing Coordinator (241530)
Location: Cheltenham and Midlands
Type: Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw)
Salary: £26,123 per annum and great benefits including Health Cash Plan
Home, a place where you belong
This is a great opportunity for a Housing Coordinator to join our team across the Midlands area. As our Housing and Property expert, you’ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to secure, long-term accommodation! You’ll jump into different services depending on where you’re needed, so you could be working in a different team and location from one week to the next – no two days will be the same!
Typical day as a Floating Housing Coordinator
* Support customers with a range of needs in different property types, from high disability supported properties to low support housing management.
* Ensure that our customers' properties are homes they can be proud of by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
* Assist customers with housing benefit claims to ensure these are received on their rent account.
* Issue and sign warning letters and notices when necessary, which may lead to court attendance.
* Prepare rooms for new customers, ensuring maximum occupancy by turning around vacant or void rooms within set timescales.
* Ensure health and safety compliance and maintenance standards are met.
You bring
* Experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties.
* Knowledge of re-letting rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
* Able to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to colleagues.
* The ability to work on your own initiative and positively influence people from diverse backgrounds.
* A proactive and well-organized “can do” attitude.
* Confidence in collaborating with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners.
Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.
Our team
You'll join Richard and our Horizons team, who are passionate about what we do! Richard has been with us at Home Group for 15 years and knows a thing or two about housing! When not at work, Richard enjoys spending time with his young son or walking his dog. Our core team is based in Cheltenham, and although we visit services across the Midlands, you’ll have an office base when needed!
Job details
* Flexible working hours (we’re open to agreeing on a work pattern with you).
* Working Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00.
* Based at our service in Cheltenham, you’ll spend time traveling around the properties in our Gloucester and Hereford patch and occasionally supporting colleagues in other patches in the Midlands.
* Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims, and conducting tenancy sign-ups.
* To travel, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes; we’ll pay your mileage!
* An Enhanced DBS check is required, and we will cover the cost.
A place where you belong
Great things happen when we can be ourselves at work. We want all our colleagues to truly be themselves here. Our internal diversity networks, peers, and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+, and Disability) support us all to be our best. Together, we make Home Group a great place to work!
What’s in it for you?
* 34 days leave (including bank holidays and a “me day” for personal use), increasing to 39, with the option to buy 5 more days, and time off for volunteering!
* Health cash plan saving you from £1140 per annum, covering costs (and kids if you have them) for dental, optical, prescriptions, alternative therapies, and more.
* Over 800 high street discounts on groceries, holidays, and days out.
* Opportunities for career growth within the organization.
* A supportive environment recognized as the 10th best place in the UK for Wellbeing.
