About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior Electrical Estimator to join their dynamic Commercial team. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of practical estimating experience and should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team. This is a long-term opportunity, and candidates are expected to be based within a reasonable commuting distance. Experience in Healthcare, Commercial, and Education projects will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate bid specifications and drawings to gather information for accurate project bids.
2. Manage project costs from initial calculations to final figures, ensuring value for money while maintaining quality and standards.
3. Track contract variations affecting costs and prepare profitability reports.
4. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
5. Conduct cost analyses for repair and maintenance work.
6. Assist in establishing client requirements and perform feasibility studies.
7. Implement risk management and cost control strategies.
8. Advise on procurement strategies and funding sources.
9. Analyze and prepare costings for tenders and submit bids.
10. Provide advice on contractual claims and write progress reports.
11. Maintain awareness of current building contracts and health and safety regulations.
Candidate Requirements
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in Electrical Estimating, managing packages exceeding £1 million.
* Strong technical knowledge of Electrical installation methods and pricing.
* Excellent mathematical and IT skills.
* Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, BillSoft, and estimating tools.
