Role: Structural Engineer Location: Glasgow Salary: £40-£49k We're currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join a well-established multi-disciplinary company in their Structures team in Glasgow. You will work alongside a talented and supportive team of engineers, gaining hands-on experience and mentoring from senior engineers. The Role As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and delivering structural engineering projects across multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, retail, and industrial projects. You will play a key role in liaising with clients, coordinating with other disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers as part of a growing team. Key Responsibilities: Lead structural design and analysis for a variety of projects across different sectors, including education, healthcare, retail, and more. Work closely with clients and stakeholders, maintaining effective communication throughout project lifecycles. Manage and coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors. Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and providing guidance. Undertake technical design reviews and ensure designs meet relevant standards and regulations. Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and schedule management. Develop and prepare detailed design calculations, specifications, and reports. Ensure adherence to safety, sustainability, and quality standards throughout projects. Assist with business development, contributing to proposals and client meetings. Collaborate with senior engineers to support your progression towards chartership. What They’re Looking For: A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). A number of years experience in structural engineering, ideally working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer. Strong experience in structural design, with proficiency in software such as Tekla SD, Tedd’s, MasterSeries, and ETABS. Knowledge of Revit would be beneficial for understanding models. Experience managing and coordinating projects and teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
