An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Medical Engineer to join the Medical Engineering team based at Leighton Hospital.
The role is to carry out the commissioning, maintenance and repair duties on medical equipment throughout the Hospital and other premises. Though this is a varied role as the duties listed within the attached job description demonstrate.
You will be working as part of a small, friendly team who have recently moved into a brand new purpose built department within Leighton Hospital.
Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for the commissioning, planned maintenance, repairs and decontamination of a wide range of medical equipment used in direct patient treatment, which may have been contaminated with bodily fluids or other hazardous substances. Some of this equipment may also be heavy or awkward to move and may require considerable manipulation to move it between hospital buildings over uneven surfaces.
