A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Dietetics Department at Glan Clwyd Hospital as an Acute Vascular Dietetic Assistant as a result of new funding. Vascular surgical patients can have complicated acute and chronic nutritional presentations which require specialist dietetic treatment.
Our Acute Dietetic Service are looking to recruit a band Dietetic Assistant to support Registered Dietitians to provide this specialist service to the Vascular Ward and multidisciplinary team, and to be an integral member of the Conwy & Denbighshire (Central BCUHB) area Acute Dietetic team.
You will be part of a dynamic Acute Dietetic team at Ysyby Glan Clwyd and part of a new era of development for the Dietetic service as a whole. The acute team includes a Band Team Lead, a Band Specialist Vascular Dietitian, additional Band specialist dietitians, band rotation positions, plus additional Dietetic Assistant time.
Main duties of the job
This post will give you the opportunity to work with the vascular multidisciplinary team to facilitate the development of cutting edge Nutrition and Dietetic services for the ward. You will have the opportunity to assist in the planning and implementation of a robust quality improvement process for nutrition in the specialist area, under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian.
As the Dietetic Assistant, you will liaise between our Dietetic, Catering and Nursing services to facilitate and optimize ward care by enabling implementation of the Welsh Government Standards which include: malnutrition screening, assessment, weighing, protected mealtimes, mealtime support, and access to food hours a day.
There is a strong, interconnected Dietetic team within the Central Team, and across North Wales, who are in regular contact via email and phone, sharing information, resources and developments wherever possible.
All necessary development support and supervision will be provided to the right individual.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
