About the Opportunity
Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the Programme and Project Partners (PPP). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

The Special Nuclear Materials (SNM) Future State Programme is one of the most complex challenges facing the NDA (Nuclear Decommissioning Authorities). The SNM Future State Programme will deliver capabilities to ensure the right material, is in the right package, in the right store to maintain safe and secure storage of material.
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical RE to lead a team of Engineers in the delivery of projects to time, cost and quality.
Responsibilities will include;
1. To lead a team of discipline engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of specified functional work that achieves safety, functional, legislative and business requirements
2. To set the assurance strategy ensuring correct stakeholder buy in at the correct time including all required design reviews, assistance reviews and any other assurance activities
3. To carryout effective and proportionate risk management and assurance activities including to call functional engineering or design capability reviews, especially in relation to novel techniques or solutions which carry significant financial, technical, design or programme risk
4. To collaborate in the selection and development of optimised, balanced and practical design solutions balancing aspects of safety and environmental performance, operational effectiveness and constructability
5. To ensure that SQEP competent resources are used to prepare, check and approve design work packages
Here's What You'll Need:
6. Qualified Chartered Engineer
7. At least 8 years of experience in relevant Project design work
8. Experience of Front End Engineering Design, Options generation and down selection
9. Experience in leading a team
