Digital Policing Network Engineer Bradford 1 full time permanent position £42,897 to £46,503 West Yorkshire Police, Digital Policing, are seeking to recruit a Network Engineer to work within the fast-paced Network Infrastructure Team, based in Bradford. You will join a team of network specialists supporting a range of infrastructure technologies such as Ciscos Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) network, Nexus and Catalyst switches, ASA and Firepower firewalls, Wireless Lan Controllers (WLC), Access Points (APs), Checkpoint Firewalls, Load Balancers/reverse proxies, IP Address Management appliances, Voice (PSTN, Teams Telephony), to name a few. Proving support for the forces numerous Wide Area Networks, LAN and campus networks, corporate Wi-Fi, public and private APNs, VPNs (Remote access and site-to-site), O365 and Azure connectivity, ensuring always-on connectivity across multiple data centers including on-premises and cloud. Working on local, regional and nations projects to deliver IT systems and services to support front line policing in West Yorkshire. Knowledge of firewall rule bases, access list configuration, network address translation (NAT and PAT), TCP/IP protocol, UDP protocol, BGP and OSPF routing protocols, policy-based routing, DNS, DHCP, Trunk Ports, Port Channels, VLANs, STP, VOIP (SIP, SBCs, ATAs etc.), IPSec, PKI and certificates. Have good communications skills at all levels, a methodical and logical approach to problem solving with good analytical skills, being self-motivated, taking ownership and can lead from the front. Ideally have Cisco CCNA (or equivalent) certification and/or a related degree, and at least 2 years experience in a similar role and environment, although training can be given to the right candidate where there may be skill gaps. Based in Bradford and working mainly within the West Yorkshire force area. Must have a full driving license and access to a motor vehicle. Participation in the sections callout/standby rota will be expected.
