Job Summary
In-depth knowledge & experience in Temenos T24 within Core Banking/Trade Finance is essential for this role.
This Functional BA role will be part of a small team of Functional BAs (team size: 2-3) and is responsible for business analysis, producing detailed functional and non-functional requirements and participating in supporting core Banking vendor applications including primarily Temenos T24 but also others like Siena, SIL – Swift, Bloomberg, Fircosoft, Corona and others. This role will also play a key role in delivering some of the strategic technology transformation initiatives including Digital Channels, Integration, Payments & Cloud.
The Functional BA team acts as an intermediary between the business community and the technical community, working with business clients and IT teams to capture, clarify, and design business requirements and processes (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed. The BA team is expected to drive the functional integrity of the overall solution ensuring that all key elements of the business case are satisfied by the business requirements through the full project lifecycle.
Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities
* Accountable for producing business requirements/user stories to inform future state design, supporting teams in understanding the requirements and their linkages to the overall Domain strategy. Understand business, strategic goals and how the teams operate to support the realization of desired outcome by the team.
* Write / support detailed universally understood functional requirements to support both new initiatives and BAU initiatives
* Establish the requirements baselines, obtain formal agreement to requirements, ensure traceability to source, create UAT test cases that are fit for purpose, which assure requirements are delivered according to the baselined scope
* Gather requirements through interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, business analysis, workflow analysis and other relevant techniques
* Conduct impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes to baselined requirements and ensure those are documented in line with the Project Management Policy
* Identify and analyse risks, issues and dependencies and proactively highlight to the team as necessary.
* Support the First Line Control Function in BAU end-to-end process analysis
* Adhere to all Group policies and procedures, standards and regulations
* Act as a liaison between department end-users, technical experts, developers, 3rd party suppliers and testers
* Works in continuous close collaboration with the stakeholders (Business, Change & technology) ensuring transparency of requirements including in technical discussions with developers, automation, data team and testers
Required Qualifications and Experience
* 7+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in Banking across multiple project types in project/programme environments involving Business & IT Change
* Considerable experience in T24 and other core banking applications like Siena, SIL – Swift, Bloomberg, Fircosoft, Corona etc
* Proven track record of end-to-end analysis & delivery of enhancements, bug fixes and upgrades in relation to Core Banking applications, including T24
* Knowledge on ISO20022 Standards, SWIFT MT7XX,MT2XX,MT1XX series messages.
* Experience in using JIRA & Confluence
* Skilled at leveraging excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders and ensure requirements are clear and unambiguous
* Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong engagement with SMEs, business sponsors, project stakeholders and supplier delivery teams
* A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving
* Knowledge of business analysis tools, techniques and best practice approaches, including end-to-end requirements management and able to show pragmatism in being able to select and adapt the right approach for the right situation
* Participate in testing and validating new systems and processes to meet business requirements
* Awareness of the rationale for business analysis and the application of business analysis skills and techniques within the business change and software development life cycles
* Can quickly develop domain knowledge to engage with stakeholders effectively and credibly on the problem statement
* Accomplished problem-solver who constructively challenges the status quo, keeps an open mind and can develop innovative solutions
* Ability to apply Bank policies, procedures, standards and regulations to projects
* Understanding of BACB’s core businesses (Trade Finance, Treasury and Real Estate) would be beneficial
* Post-secondary school education e. g. bachelor’s degree or equivalent
* Business Analysis certification would be desirable
