The Role of the Shift Electrical Technician
9. Reporting to the team leader / shift engineer your duties will involve attending breakdowns,
10. Fault finding
11. Undertaking planned maintenance schedules across a wide range of equipment.
12. The role will involve working a mixture of day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts to provide round the clock support to a modern rolling and finishing facility.

Requirements of the Shift Electrical Technician
Essential Requirements of the Shift Electrical Technician
14. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data
15. Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns
16. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data
17. Experience of general electrical fault finding
18. Experience of maintenance of A.C. and D.C. motors, drives (up to kW), inverters and overhead crane maintenance
19. Hold a Recognised Electrical apprenticeship (BTEC/ONC at level 3 AND HNC/HND or equivalent)
20. Experience with PLC investigation and interrogation (Preferably Siemens S7)
21. A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to safe working procedures, risk assessments and permit systems
22. Good level of problem-solving awareness

Desirable Requirements of the Shift Electrical Technician
24. Previous experience of completing work under calibration and industrial compliance systems
25. Knowledge of and experience with a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) for reporting purposes
26. Working knowledge of 18th Edition IET regulations
27. Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights
28. Previous experience of completing work under calibration and industrial compliance systems
The Working Pattern of a Shift Electrical Technician
29. This role includes 12-hour days and night shifts. This includes weekends with days off in the week.
