We are offering a fantastic opportunity for university students to work as Teaching Assistants in SEND schools. This flexible, part-time role is perfect for those looking to gain invaluable experience in education while managing their studies. You’ll have the chance to support students with a range of learning needs and make a real difference in their lives.
As a Teaching Assistant in SEND education, you will work on a flexible, part-time basis, providing 1:1 or group support to students with autism, learning difficulties, and other special educational needs. With no two days the same, you’ll gain a broad range of experience and develop essential skills that will benefit you in your future career.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist class teachers in delivering lessons and supporting students with SEND.
* Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to help students access the curriculum.
* Support students with personal care, mobility, and other daily needs when required.
* Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Support the development of students' social, emotional, and academic skills.
* Follow and assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
What We’re Looking For:
* University students who are studying in any field, with a genuine interest in education and SEND.
* No prior experience in teaching is required; we are looking for enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
* A patient, caring, and positive approach when working with young people.
* Strong communication skills, both with students and staff.
* Flexibility to work around your university timetable (evenings, weekends, or term-time).
* A clear DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
