Job overview
Are you passionate about motivating people to achieve a healthy lifestyle? Are you ready for a new challenge in a unique setting where you can support individuals on their rehabilitation journey?
The Thames Valley Forensic Mental Health Service is seeking a Fitness Instructor to join its medium secure service in Oxford. Based on Evenlode ward, a 10-bed male learning disability ward at the Oxford Clinic, the role also involves outreach work with the community forensic learning disability team, supporting individuals detained under the Mental Health Act.
You’ll set up and run the gym and sports programmes within the unit and develop community sports links. Working one-on-one with patients, you’ll help them achieve health and fitness goals while promoting healthy living, including smoking cessation advice.
This role includes an RSU allowance of £1,446 per annum on top of your salary. An informal discussion about the opportunity, or a visit, is strongly encouraged.
Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.
