Requirements:
We are looking for a successful candidate with strong skills in the following areas:
1. Expert and demonstrable technical background in enterprise server, storage, hypervisor, and operating systems.
2. A logical and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
3. Exceptional communication and social skills, with a demonstrable ability to influence technical decisions in a fast-paced commercial environment.
4. A self-motivator with energy and drive for continuous improvement, focused on delivering results.
5. Proven ability to influence technical decisions in a fast-moving commercial environment.
6. A minimum of 8 years of data engineering experience.
Essential:
1. 5+ years of experience in a Senior Infrastructure support/engineer role.
2. Experience with Dell Power Edge Servers, PowerVault, PowerStore, PowerScale, and PowerMAX.
3. Background in supplier management or managed service provider (MSP) environments.
4. Proficiency in Windows Server OS, Linux and Unix OS, VMware ESXi, and Active Directory.
5. Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and data protection.
Desirable:
1. Familiarity with IBM FlashSystem and QNAP.
2. Experience implementing security controls, compliance standards, and security monitoring in cloud environments.
3. Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, including DSPT.
4. Experience in an industry framework (ITIL, ISO 20000/27001, etc.).
5. A full UK driving license is preferred.
Your responsibilities are:
In your role as a Principal Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
1. Design Cloud Infrastructure by capturing and developing client requirements, engaging internal and external assets, producing and presenting solution designs.
2. Act as an Implementation Lead, working with the project team to ensure successful implementation and client workload migration.
3. Serve as a technical escalation point for the operations team regarding complex incident and problem management.
4. Ensure security and compliance through proposed and implemented centralized controls.
5. Collaborate with the wider project and operations team to document centralized constructs, as well as any produced modules or artefacts, creating documentation that is accessible to various audiences.
