This is an exciting opportunity to join the Early Years Team as we have recently reviewed our service because of changing national and local priorities. This means we now have greater capacity to be more resilient, connected and able to achieve our ambition to provide a high-quality service which responds to the unique needs of early years children and their families, ensuring the best start in life for all.
We are a highly experienced and committed team who constantly strive to improve outcomes for children, working with our partners to ensure that all children in Staffordshire can access their funded entitlements in high quality, inclusive settings.
As a result of our service review there are two full time vacancies available for the role of an Early Years Improvement Consultant.
Main Responsibilities
You will be focussed on improving outcomes for children through:
* building effective relationships with settings and partners to enhance the quality and inclusivity of early years providers
* working proactively with settings and partners to provide information, advice and guidance in line with service statutory responsibilities and priorities
* working in partnership with settings recommending and implementing improvements and initiatives in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory frameworks and evidence based practices
* contributing to improving the quality and accessibility of Early Years services ensuring that all children, especially those with additional needs receive a supportive and effective start
* improving the quality of reflective and evidence-based practices, transitions and outcomes for all children
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
* a proven track record of consultancy or support that impacts on the quality of early years provision and outcomes for children
* demonstrable knowledge of current educational developments, initiatives and research and legislation relating to Early Years and Childcare
* comprehensive knowledge of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Ofsted registration, inspection Frameworks, Working Together to Safeguard Children and the SEND Code of Practice
* excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* ability to work collaboratively, within and across teams with a creative approach to problem solving
