Role Summary:
As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to managers and employees on various employee relations matters within Once for All. Your primary focus will be on promoting positive working relationships, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and our policies. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of HR policies and practices.
Please note this is a Fixed Term Contract role for 12 months
Job Responsibilities:
* Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and performance management.
* Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee relations issues, gathering relevant information and conducting interviews as necessary, ensuring fair and impartial handling of cases.
* Collaborate with managers to address performance-related issues and develop and support appropriate corrective action plans.
* Mediate and facilitate discussions between employees and management to resolve conflicts and improve working relationships.
* Assist in the development and implementation of employee relations policies, procedures, and practices in alignment with employment laws and organisational values.
* Stay updated with employment laws and regulations, providing guidance to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks while sharing knowledge with the rest of the People Team.
* Provide coaching and training to give managers confidence in leading effective employee relations practices, conflict resolution, and performance management.
* Develop and deliver employee relations training programs to enhance understanding and awareness among employees.
* Analyse employee relations data and trends to identify areas of root cause, deliver improvement, and recommend proactive solutions.
* Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations documentation and records, taking ownership of the ER tracker.
* Craft and upgrade existing HR policies to include company values and ensure they are published on the company intranet.
* Assist in other HR-related projects and initiatives as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
* Proven experience as an Employee Relations Advisor or in a similar role, handling employee relations matters within an organisation.
* Strong understanding of conflict resolution techniques and mediation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with employees and management at all levels.
* Ability to conduct thorough and objective investigations, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to analyse employee relations issues and recommend appropriate actions.
* Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple cases and prioritise work effectively.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism.
* Knowledge of conflict resolution and mediation techniques is preferred.
* Experience in managing employee relations within a diverse workforce is beneficial.
* Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with changes in employment laws and industry best practices.
* Professional certifications in employee relations or mediation are advantageous. Relevant training courses or credentials in Human Resources (CIPD Level 5) are desirable but not essential.
* Good understanding of employment law and best practices with the ability to understand and interpret company policies and procedures.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build successful relationships at all levels of the organisation.
* Ability to tackle a problem from all angles.
* Able to handle issues sensitively and confidentially.
* The ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
* Excellent administrative and system skills, with thorough attention to detail.
