We are looking for a highly skilled teacher and able leader with extensive Early Years’ experience, who is committed to our ethos and values. You will have the opportunity to lead two year-groups (supported by one of our Assistant Headteachers) and a curriculum area.
Experience
• Teaching within the primary phase, including evidence of outstanding teaching
• Leading and developing other teachers, including evidence of improving teaching standards
• Experience of the development and oversight of a whole school or phase initiative
• Developing and delivering staff development e.g. leading CPD
• Implementing teaching and learning strategies to improve quality and pupil attainment
Skills and knowledge
• Expert knowledge of legislation and guidance on curriculum requirements and key stage delivery
• Outstanding classroom practice, constantly showing a positive and resilient approach to pupils and staff
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Good IT skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
• Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
What the school offers its staff
Following the promotion of our existing Phase Leader, Nightingale Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and talented Early Years Teacher to join the team in our three-form entry primary school. We are looking for a highly skilled teacher and able leader who is committed to our ethos and values. Supported by one of our Assistant Headteachers, you will have the opportunity to lead two year-groups (Nursery and Reception) and a curriculum area (Phonics), with release time from class to support you with fulfilling your role.
We are committed to the professional development of our staff and our middle leaders are able to access training through Redbridge Education Partnership, the National College and other organisations to support them in the role and their ongoing development as leaders.
The school is located on a large site in a leafy, green suburb of East London, whilst also affording all the opportunities of quick access to the amenities of Central and East London. We are committed to providing our children with excellent opportunities academically, in exploring their wider interests and talents and in their personal development.
