A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering Apprentice to join the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Maintenance Team based at our Gosport OFD (Oil Fuel Depot).
The successful candidate will initially be enrolled on a 3 / 4-year Electrical Apprenticeship programme with some enhanced knowledge around Instrumentation Systems.
The Electrical Apprenticeship Program is designed to develop your expertise across a breadth of operational and technical areas of the business. Your plant-based training program is supported by the nationally recognised apprentice standard structure (Level 3 Science Industry Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship supported by BTEC National Certificate in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Electrical / Electronics). We support the apprentice standard with all the relevant technical certificates to enable the apprentices to develop their skills in all aspects of Electrical and Instrumentation engineering.
You will gain valuable skills and knowledge around Engineering, as well as insights into working within a COMAH Bulk Liquid Operations Site. In the area of Process Safety, you will learn about Process Safety study techniques, COMAH requirements, Human Factors, and Functional Safety. We provide a positive environment together with a strong safety and team working culture. The programme is run in conjunction with Cogent Skills, and the successful candidate will be based at Gosport, supported by 3 / 4 days a week, and day release for the first two years at Southampton City College. Years three and four are primarily based at the OFD Gosport under a mentorship programme.
