Position Overview:
We are seeking an inspirational Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages, with deep subject knowledge.
The Modern Foreign Languages Department at Manor School is a vibrant and forward-thinking team passionate about opening up the world through language learning. We teach French and Spanish across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, alongside offering German at Key Stages 4 and 5, providing students with opportunities to develop their linguistic skills and cultural understanding.
Our department is committed to delivering a high-quality curriculum that inspires a love for languages and fosters global awareness. We place equal emphasis on developing students' confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, ensuring they leave Manor School equipped with practical language skills and a deep appreciation for diverse cultures.
Currently, the team is refining the curriculum to ensure it is both rigorous and supportive, offering stretch and challenge for high achievers while guiding all learners to make excellent progress. Through engaging lessons, real-world applications, and interactive activities, we help students develop their communication skills and broaden their horizons.

Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Delivering High-Quality Lessons
· Designing engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
· Ensuring lessons align with the National Curriculum and school policies while incorporating appropriate use of technology and up-to-date teaching methods.
Assessing and Tracking Progress
· Using formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' progress and inform future teaching.
· Recording and reporting on attainment and progress data to stakeholders, including students, parents, and school leadership.
Promoting a Positive Learning Environment
· Establishing clear behavior expectations and maintaining classroom discipline.
· Creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment where all students feel valued and can thrive.
Supporting Student Well-Being
· Recognizing and addressing the mental health and emotional needs of students, including safeguarding responsibilities.
· Collaborating with pastoral staff and external agencies as necessary to support student welfare.
Engaging in Professional Development
· Participating in ongoing training to enhance subject knowledge, pedagogy, and classroom management skills.
· Reflecting on and improving personal teaching practices through collaboration, feedback, and staying updated on educational policy changes. classrooms.
Qualifications:
* Degree in MFL education or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of current MFL curriculum standards and best practices, especially mastery
* Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
* Passion for MFL education and a commitment to inspiring students in the field.
