A bit about Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations
In the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations, we are responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with our external environment and stakeholders. This includes both prospective and current students, businesses and our local community. Made up of Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment and Outreach and External Relations teams, we work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the Universitys ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile.
So, what will the role involve?
We are currently seeking two part-time Communications Assistants to support the Communications Managers within the team, offering wide-ranging experience in public sector communications. You will be involved in story generation and promotion, both internally and externally, supporting the Communications Managers in handling media enquiries and interview requests, shooting and editing video, podcasting, generating content for social media platforms and generally supporting the wider Communications team on a variety of administrative tasks.
You will either support the Communications Manager for Salford Business School (SBS) or the Salford School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology (SAMCT), or the School of Science, Engineering and Environment(SSEE).
You will be expected to contribute ideas and solutions during team discussions and planning meetings and will support the Communications Managers on multiple projects. You will be a current student at the University of Salford or beginning your studies in the /25 academic year with a good knowledge of the media landscape and a desire to learn in a stimulating and creative environment. You will promote creativity whilst ensuring quality, consistency and efficiency in all areas of media and PR activity.

This is a 9 month Fixed Term Contract and we have 3 roles available. The roles will start in the new academic year in September.
