Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including hospice care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through compassionate support and effective communication.
Responsibilities
1. Deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
2. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
3. Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
4. Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with specific needs.
5. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being.
6. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
7. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans.
Experience
1. Previous experience in hospice care, senior care, or childcare is preferred but not essential.
2. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and first aid practices is advantageous.
3. Experience working in assisted living or nursing home environments is beneficial.
4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
5. A genuine passion for helping others and improving their quality of life is essential.
