Job Purpose:
To provide Engineering Drawings, Bills of Materials and Installation Operating and Maintenance Manuals for new and current Valve projects and orders, to agreed criteria, quality and timescales.
Key Result Areas and Core Objectives:
KRA1: Drawing Office
· Provide 3D design concepts and Planning in Drawings as required to meet Sales brief(s).
· Produce designs and drawings to BS8888, meeting the requirements of Rota Val and its customers.
· Produce Installation, Operating and Maintenance manuals to meet customers’ needs and production requirements.
· Modify designs/drawings as and when required, to promote a Continual Improvement environment, including changes for DFM.
· Issue and control of drawings to company procedures, maintenance of filing systems and general office housekeeping.
· Transfer legacy drawings into updated CAD PDM system.
· Control parts identification and BOM compilation, using the companies Supply Chain Management system.
· Check own work for accuracy and completeness.
· Basic understanding of electrical items in order to facilitate specification and testing of RotaSafe product and other 3rd party items fitted to valves.
· Understanding of ATEX implications on valve designs/drawings.
KRA2: Cross-functional Support and Communications
· Provide design support for all areas of manufacture, including the machine shop, assembly, purchasing, inspection, stores and dispatch.
· Assist Technical Manager during R&D projects.
· Provide design support for Sales & Marketing as and when required.
KRA3: Health and Safety
· Maintain an acceptable level of departmental tidiness and organization.
· To take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
· To co-operate with Rota Val to enable the company to perform its duties as required by legislation and good practice.
Job and Personal Skills:
· Mechanical Design Engineering experience - knowledge of rotating mechanisms would be an advantage.
· Effective in communication.
· Self motivated and able to work using own initiative with minimal supervision.
· Good IT awareness and competent with 3D CAD systems, such as Autodesk Inventor or similar.
· Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage own workload ensuring targets and objectives are met.
· Ability to improve one’s own performance wherever possible.
· Understanding of basic electrical concepts in order to facilitate specification and testing of product.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
