At the forefront of modern farming and food production, G’s is an incredibly exciting place to work. It’s fast-paced, stimulating, and rewarding. G’s is one of the largest fresh produce providers in the UK, producing over one billion packs of healthy products a year.
Over the last 5 years, G’s Cambridgeshire Farms have made significant progress in transitioning our farming to Regenerative Agriculture principles, supported by developing an increasing understanding of how these work at plant and microbial levels to deliver the same yields on lower inputs. We have seen significant progress with the life in, and condition of, our soils. We are seeing improved farm and crop performance, and we are learning how to marry Regenerative Agriculture with intensive Horticulture.
As part of continuing our progress, the Future Farming Assistant will expand our Future Farming team to ensure we continue to improve our rate of progress. We are looking for a combination of engaging communication skills, scientific mindset and rigour, and ideally some track record of practical farming skills.
The Role of Future Farming Assistant includes:
* Drive forward the Future Farming project workstreams.
* Oversee the day-to-day data collection by managing Trials Coordinator(s) and project students with still some level of hands-on approach around the larger significant trial plans/work.
* Aid and assist managers and growers in the implementation and continuation of trials aimed at improving the regeneration of farming areas.
* Increase the visibility and understanding of learning/data arising from all sampling methods with real focus around clear measurables by each crop manager to enable progression.
* Identify areas for further work and improvement by analysis of qualitative and quantitative data income.
* Research potential projects and new workstream ideas by industry networking and attendance of conferences and workshops.

* We are looking for a degree level qualification in Agriculture or bio-sciences, ideally with some industry experience.
* You will be willing and able to be mobile across our farms with the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships.

* Full UK driving licence required; company vehicle provided as role will include travel across our sites.
