Job summary The Beechwood Unit is a specialist 15 bed acute dementia ward, nestled within the fantastic facilities at the Uckfield Community Hospital. We care for individuals with a diagnosis, or suspected diagnosis of dementia who are deemed mentally unwell and need immediate treatment and support from our specialist team. The team working on the ward includes nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, drama therapists and a psychologist, with access to dieticians and physiotherapists as required. We believe in teamwork and know that everyone has a part to play in offering excellent levels of care to our patients. As a Staff Nurse you will have the opportunities to deliver patient-centred care supporting patients with Dementia. You will work as part of the MDT undertaking assessments of patients with complex mental health needs developing care with the patients and their families/carers. In conjunction with the team, you will assess and manage risks and will work closely with other teams and professionals to ensure the effective discharge of patients.
