About you:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Credit Control Manager to lead, motivate, and manage our credit control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for minimizing bad debts, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams. You will play a key role in improving processes and driving efficiency to ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the credit control team to achieve departmental goals and KPIs.
* Develop and implement strategies to minimize bad debts and improve cash flow.
* Monitor and review outstanding accounts, ensuring timely and effective collection of overdue payments.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment and resolve any issues or disputes.
* Work closely with internal departments such as sales, finance, and customer service to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
* Develop and enforce credit policies and procedures to minimize risk.
* Perform regular credit assessments of new and existing customers to set appropriate credit limits.
* Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable, aged debt, and collection performance to senior management.
* Train, mentor, and develop the credit control team to ensure they meet performance standards and grow professionally.
* Resolve escalated customer issues and provide solutions to reduce bad debts.
About you:
* Proven experience as a Credit Control Manager or in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of credit control procedures and techniques.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and motivating a team.
* Ability to analyse data, assess risks, and implement strategies to improve cash flow.
* Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
