Job Title: Restaurant Senior Sales and Events Manager
Overview: The Senior Sales and Events Manager is responsible for driving revenue through the strategic planning and execution of sales initiatives and events within the restaurant. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with clients, coordinating events, and implementing effective sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to increase revenue and meet sales targets.
2. Identify new business opportunities and market trends to stay ahead of the competition.
3. Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to support sales efforts.
Client Relationship Management:
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
2. Conduct client meetings and presentations to showcase the restaurant's capabilities for events and catering.
3. Respond to client inquiries, provide information, and address concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Event Coordination:
1. Plan, coordinate, and execute events held at the restaurant, including private parties, corporate events, weddings, and other special occasions.
2. Work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring a seamless and memorable event experience.
3. Oversee the logistics of events, including staffing, catering, and setup/breakdown.
Financial Management:
1. Prepare and manage budgets for events, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
2. Monitor sales performance and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to maximize revenue and profitability.
Team Collaboration:
1. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to align sales and events strategies with overall business goals.
2. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other relevant personnel to ensure the successful execution of events.
3. Responsible for the Captains and servers involved in the restaurant as his/her reports.
Networking:
1. Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and stay informed about industry trends.
2. Sell the concept of the 2 private dining rooms of 15 and 30 people respectively as well as a private lounge patio that will accommodate 50 people.
3. Manage and sell the concept for all restaurant buy-outs that will accommodate up to 200 people.
4. Responsible to attend the events through to the dinner phase as the face of the business in the catering/events community.
5. Responsible to be involved in all buy-outs to the end of the event to build corporate business.
6. Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, event planners, and other key partners.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field is an asset.
2. This candidate will come from big box hotels or restaurant companies.
3. Proven experience in sales and event management within the hospitality industry.
4. Strong organizational and project management skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
Preferred Skills:
1. Knowledge of local market trends and competition.
2. Familiarity with event management software.
3. Experience in the restaurant or catering industry.
