HR BUSINESS PARTNER
Sonepar UK are looking for a HR Business Partner to join our team. Sonepar are the number 1 world leader in B2B sales, present in 40 countries. The People Ops team cover Sonepar's two UK companies; Mayflex and Routeco. This role will work primarily with Mayflex based in Birmingham.
Mayflex is a leading distributor of converged IP solutions including infrastructure, networking and IP security solutions.
ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a proactive, engaging individual who is either a current HR Business Partner or someone with a high level of ER experience, looking to take the next step into a HR Business Partner position. The ideal candidate will be passionate, forward thinking and have a continuous improvement mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop strong commercial relationships with business leaders.
2. Able to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, following due process providing guidance where appropriate for Mayflex, and when needed Routeco and Sonepar UK.
3. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of associates.
4. Provide performance management guidance to management.
5. Provide guidance and input on restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
6. Identify training needs with the sales and commercial teams ensuring that any training provided adds value.
7. Work with management to support recruitment needs, be proactive in sourcing candidates reducing time to hire and ensuring the recruitment through to end of induction is seamless and engaging.
8. Ensure recruitment processes are followed and contract terms for new hires and promotions are in line with company reward guidelines.
9. Ensure that any strategies developed within the People Pillar framework become embedded within the opco.
10. Drive People initiatives, i.e., DE&I, sustainability, wellbeing, development etc., through relationships with business leaders.
11. Where OpCos operate outside the UK, ensure Company compliance with local country regulations.
12. In line with People KPI’s on retention ensure that exit and stay interviews are undertaken to provide data and insight to trends.
13. Ensure that line management works in line with our values to maintain our supportive culture, putting ‘people first’.
14. Assist with projects and administration where needed.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO US?
1. Ideally CIPD qualified, preferably level 5 or above.
2. Engaging interpersonal and communication skills, ability and confidence to communicate at all levels of the business.
3. Skills in relationship building, influencing, and negotiating are essential.
4. Up-to-date knowledge of HR processes, employment law fundamentals, and recent developments.
5. 3+ years experience in overseeing high level disciplinary, grievance, performance management, and appeal procedures.
6. 3+ years experience in dealing with challenging individuals/situations.
7. 3+ years experience in proactive recruitment.
8. Able to manage time and the demands of numerous tasks effectively.
9. Patient and with the ability to remain calm - firm but fair.
10. A natural influencer who is down to earth, open, energetic, and enthusiastic.
