Summary
Overall Purpose: Primarily this will be to work within our SEND department to support students who have SEND and / or SEMH needs. The successful candidate will need to show an inclusive approach to students modifying language and practice to ensure they are fully supported in their learning.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Duties Include:
* Effectively manage student behaviour and any other immediate issues or emergencies that arise in accordance with academy policy
* To support students to engage with the work provided, including providing support where necessary with literacy, numeracy and organisational skills
* To liaise with teachers/other relevant staff with regard to work set for a class and ensure you are suitably equipped and informed to be able to effectively supervise the assigned lesson
* To feedback to the class teacher on student engagement in the set work and any other issues that may have arisen
* To help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment
* To undertake student registration of a class if required
* To assist with the organisation of cover for absent colleagues for both planned and unplanned absence

Your training plan
* The Apprentice will gain a Level 3 in Teaching Assistant
* The apprentice will get full training from the employer as well as support from SCL, they will also receive 20% off the job training
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
* Maths (grade 4)
* English (grade 4/5)
