Based in an enviable setting in its own grounds on the shores of Lake Windermere, has a beautiful fine dining restaurant and a modern British bistro, renowned for its breathtaking views and exceptional hospitality. They pride themselves on offering an exquisite dining experience that showcases the best of local produce and innovative culinary techniques. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating seasonal menus, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities: Menu Development: Create and execute seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients and reflect current culinary trends. Kitchen Management: Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Cost Control: Manage food costs and inventory, optimizing profitability without compromising quality. Quality Assurance: Ensure all dishes meet the hotel's standards for presentation and flavor. Collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests. Event Catering: Coordinate and execute special events, private dining, and bespoke catering requests. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and techniques, implementing changes to enhance the dining experience. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen role within a quality establishment. Culinary degree or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and dietary requirements. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Passion for using local and seasonal ingredients. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
