Lead Contract Manager – Major Energy Project
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Contract Manager to join a high-profile Net Zero energy project. This multi-billion-pound Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project will involve an initial 12-month assignment in Paris, followed by 2-3 years on-site in Teesside, UK.
The Role:
* Advise the Project Director on contract strategy and execution.
* Lead all contract management activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
* Develop and negotiate contractual terms for key project agreements, including client contracts, partnerships, and supply chain arrangements.
* Oversee risk management, change orders, claims, and commercial strategy.
* Manage a team of contract engineers and legal advisors.
* Act as a key interface between legal, procurement, and project teams.
* Provide strategic recommendations to maximise contract value and mitigate risks.
What We’re Looking For:
* Expertise in contract management, legal negotiation, and risk assessment.
* Experience in EPC projects within energy, oil & gas, power plants, or carbon capture.
* Strong knowledge of English Law/Common Law (NEC4 Contract – Option E is a plus).
* Ability to manage complex multi-centre and consortium partnerships.
* Excellent communication skills in English (French is a plus).
* Highly autonomous with a strategic mindset and strong leadership skills.
