One of the UK's largest Facilities Management providers is looking to support their client's goals around Environmental and Sustainability by recruiting, for the first time, a Senior Environmental Specialist to advise the client on best Environmental practices across their UK estate.
The customer operates in corporate banking, and their estate consists of corporate banking facilities housing large numbers of staff, which presents a challenge for good Environmental practices.
Here, working with an Environmental Manager and a myriad of client staff, you will use a globally-certified Environmental Management System (EMS) in EMEA that complies with the international standards ISO 14001/50001, helping to reduce our client's environmental impact and footprint in all operations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident Environmental Specialist to develop their career while working in seamless integration with a renowned global customer.
Actions will include:
* Lead external and internal ISO 14001/50001 surveillance and recertification audits in the UK.
* Assist in the transformation into a net-zero carbon emissions corporation, as well as expanding our renewable energy portfolio in the region.
* Partner with UK facilities management teams to ensure environmental legal and regulatory compliance.
* Support facilities management teams with core EMS documentation and deliverables, quarterly updating templates, providing guidance, and ensuring timely completion.
* Collaborate across business functions and build relationships with partners across GCS.
* Support project management tasks.
* Review, validate, and analyze environmental performance data for the UK.
* Manage stakeholders, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and deliverables.
* Communicate team accomplishments internally across a variety of platforms and formats, producing an assortment of reports and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Lead UK awareness, engagement, and communication efforts, bringing our story to end users across the region, and supporting local events.
We need from you:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; background in environmental management systems or environmental legal and regulatory compliance preferred, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
* Previous experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 audits is a must.
* Membership in a professional body, e.g., IEMA, is a plus.
