Business Support Coordinator – LADO – Children Services – Croydon Council Salary: Grade 7 £37,068 - £38,058 Permanent – 36 hours per week Hybrid working Job Purpose The LADO team provide a key role in safeguarding the children’s workforce across partners in Croydon. The team oversee and manage allegations against adults working with children in schools, nurseries, foster homes, residential care, statutory agencies and voluntary groups such as scouts, sports and youth clubs. This business support role is critical in supporting the management of consultations and referrals and supporting the LADOs in providing critical safeguarding guidance and support. The BSO provides minute taking, record management and retrieval, and other key administrative duties to support professional staff to exercise the authorities statutory duties. Requirements Demonstrable experience of providing administrative and organisational support in a demanding environment and within statutory and procedural guidelines. Ability to deal with tactfully and responsibly with a range of people face to face and over the telephone. Demonstrable experience of taking an accurate record of meetings. Knowledge of common business support systems used throughout the council. Good knowledge and understanding of the customers’ business support requirements. Knowledge of national legislation, policies, standards and initiatives relevant to this role within a local government environment. Delivering customer service expertise. Ability to prioritise own workload and that of a large team to meet deadlines in a fast-changing environment. Effective communication skills (both written and oral) in order to represent the work area and deal with customers. Ability to use a range of ICT effectively and with a high-level accuracy. Experience of managing competing priorities. Demonstrable experience organising and co-ordinating events and meetings.
