We are excited to announce a new Enhanced Support Team (EST) as part of the University of Huddersfield's ongoing commitment to improving student outcomes.
The Enhanced Support Team will play a crucial role in providing proactive and comprehensive support to students, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed academically and personally. The team will adopt a multi-disciplinary approach, with specialisms in areas such as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (B.A.M.E) student support, care-experienced and estranged student support, mental health, autism, and complex disability support, as well as careers and placement support.
The Support Coach (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic - B.A.M.E) role will report to the EST Team Manager and will involve the delivery of proactive and comprehensive support to students as outlined in the Access and Participation Plan. With a degree in a relevant field or substantial equivalent professional experience, you will provide coaching, support and networking opportunities to all students, with a focus on students from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. You will support students to navigate university life and develop independence and autonomy in order to achieve positive outcomes around engagement, retention, academic success, and career progression.
As part of our commitment to improving diversity and representation within the sector, we are particularly welcoming applications from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic candidates. This is in line with the positive action provisions of the Equality Act 2010, aimed at addressing underrepresentation in our organisation.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students, helping them to navigate university life, achieve their academic goals, and prepare for successful careers. If you are enthusiastic about supporting students and have the relevant qualifications and experience, we encourage you to apply. We would encourage all applicants to find out more about this team and its objectives as detailed in our Access and Participation Plan 2025-2029.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Regular status checks may also be required, depending on your role.
