My client is looking for a skilled Network Engineer for a 3-month contract based in Manchester. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Designing, configuring, and supporting enterprise network environments (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, switches, routers).
2. Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues to ensure 24/7 uptime.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and deployments.
4. Maintaining network security by implementing firewalls, access controls, and security policies.
5. Creating and updating documentation, network diagrams, and procedures.
6. Staying current with new technologies and recommending upgrades or improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
1. 3+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.
2. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
3. Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar enterprise-grade network equipment.
4. Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios).
5. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a strong plus.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
1. Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
2. Knowledge of automation tools like Ansible or Python scripting for network automation.
3. Exposure to SD-WAN, VoIP, or wireless technologies.
