Job Title: Service Manager Residential Childcare
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £49,229 - £56,516 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 39 hours per week
About the Role:
21 Health and Social Care are looking to recruit an experienced Service Manager to join one of our clients Residential Childcare and Education Services - a market leading provider in the field with an array of resources and high quality service provision. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead and manage a residential home, supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and social needs to reach their full potential.
As a Service Manager, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment, ensuring high-quality care and positive outcomes for the young people in your care. This role requires strong leadership, operational management skills, and a passion for making a difference in children's lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the residential service in line with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
* Provide strong leadership and guidance to the staff team, ensuring they are supported and motivated to deliver person-centred care.
* Develop and maintain care plans and risk assessments that reflect the individual needs of the children and young people.
* Promote safeguarding practices and ensure that the highest levels of care and protection are maintained at all times.
* Work in partnership with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for the young people.
* Support the recruitment, training, and development of staff to ensure the team has the skills and knowledge to provide outstanding care.
* Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate regulations and maintain high standards of care at all times.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* SVQ Level 4 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in a management role within a residential childcare setting.
* Strong knowledge of Care Inspectorate regulations and SSSC codes of practice.
* Proven experience of leading and motivating staff teams.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to promoting childrens rights, wellbeing, and participation.
* Full UK driving licence is essential.
