We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Soldering Operative within our growing Foundry Team. In a nutshell you will be responsible for: You'll be responsible for meticulously soldering brass parts using specialized techniques, ensuring a strong and aesthetically pleasing finish. What you are already great at: Soldering brass components together according to specifications and assembly drawings. Operating and maintaining soldering equipment, including torches, soldering irons, and related tools. Preparing brass surfaces for soldering by cleaning and applying necessary fluxes. Applying solder to brass joints with precision and control, ensuring proper flow and penetration. Inspecting soldered joints for defects like leaks, cracks, or uneven solder distribution. Reworking or repairing non-conforming soldered joints to meet quality specifications. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper handling and storage of brass components and tools. Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including proper ventilation and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Potentially involved in the preparation of brazing solutions or silver solder applications (depending on the role). Following documented procedures and keep accurate records of production activities. May be required to learn and implement new soldering techniques as needed. Ensuring work instructions and procedures are followed at all times. Recognising and reporting exceptional requirements or shortfalls for parts and components. Training and developing new team members to the standard required. Reporting any issues to the team leader. Maintain a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards and ensure 5S standards are maintained. Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company. Ensure compliance with company procedures and make suggestions for improvement. For this role we would need you to demonstrate: Prior experience in soldering brass or other metals (preferred but not essential). Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to safety and quality standards. Knowledge of safe brass handling practices preferred.
