We have a rare and exciting career opportunity within our Greenspace Service to help deliver the maintenance of our quality parks, foreshore and public open spaces for residents and visitors. The Greenspace Service, based in Bognor Regis, West Sussex is seeking a full-time skilled technician. Candidates should be experienced, enthusiastic and a desire to contribute towards a successful team environment. As a team player you should demonstrate a positive adaptable approach and a ‘can do’ attitude. Good organisational skills and a proven ability to work under pressure are essential. You must understand site health and safety requirements and you’ll need good communication skills to work with customers and partners. The role is varied; you will primarily be required to undertake general repairs and maintenance of council assets, maintain sea defences, maintain drainage ditches, install street nameplates and assist with aspects of the Tree & Maintenance Team. A variety of trades including paving, fencing, drainage, brickwork, carpentry, roofing, decorating, hard and soft landscaping would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will have experience with plant machinery use of power tools, a foundation of practical skills, work on their own initiative with a proactive approach and able to prioritise work. You will need to be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather. A full valid driving licence is essential.
