Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work Full Time based in Herefordshire.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £43,223 per annum.
Main duties:
* Providing an effective and high-quality social work service within the Recruitment and Assessment Team. To work in partnership with case managers, team leaders, and key professionals to ensure that children and young people in need of protection and statutory intervention can safely have their needs addressed whilst remaining with their parents, Kinship, carers, and foster carers.
* Build positive, supportive, and respectful relationships with families, foster carers, and others in order to help support children in need of help or protection.
* To be responsible for and manage a mixed caseload of assessments of foster carers involved with mainstream fostering, short-breaks and respite care, kinship foster carers, Supported Lodging Providers, SGO to meet the placement needs and outcomes for children.
* To undertake a range of assessments of prospective and existing foster carers (mainstream fostering, short-breaks, respite, kinship, and special guardianship assessment and assessments for supported lodgings providers).
* To devise, coordinate, and implement plans that are based on the assessments, or any further updated assessments and address areas of unmet safety and welfare needs for children.
* To effectively assess and manage risk and ensure that safer care plans and risk assessments are in place. To prepare and present written and verbal reports on children and foster carers where appropriate.
* To devise, monitor, implement and review (where appropriate) foster carers’ agreements, placement agreements, and support plans.
* Provide and ensure consistently high-quality risk management and decision making in identifying the most appropriate plans and interventions for children and young people.
* Ensure effective outcomes for children and young people are achieved.
* Ensure case allocation is based on appropriate skills of the social worker.
* Manage the team establishment and the recruitment and support of team members.
Requirements of this Social Worker role:
* A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
