We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join my clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of tests on construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. This role involves both laboratory-based and occasional on-site work. Key Responsibilities: Sample Preparation: Collect samples of materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates from construction sites. Prepare samples for testing, including crushing, sieving, and mixing. Laboratory Testing: Conduct a range of tests, including: Soil tests (e.g., Atterberg limits, compaction tests, sieve analysis) Concrete tests (e.g., compressive strength, slump tests, air content tests) Asphalt tests (e.g., Marshall stability tests, penetration tests) Aggregate tests (e.g., sieve analysis, specific gravity tests) Utilise laboratory equipment and instruments accurately and efficiently. Record test data and results meticulously. On-Site Work: Occasionally visit construction sites to collect samples and observe construction activities. Conduct field tests as required (e.g., density tests, moisture content tests). Qualifications and Skills: Education: Associate's degree or equivalent in civil engineering technology, construction technology, or a related field. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, in construction materials testing Strong understanding of construction materials and testing methods. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments. Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO). Proficiency in data analysis and report writing Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
