The role is remote, offering flexibility, and requires someone with a strong background in credit control, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to build strong, lasting relationships with clients. Location: Remote working, UK-based Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term (12 to 15 months) Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience Hours: 37.5 hours per week (preferably 9:00am - 5:00pm) About the Role: As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing and reconciling the company's sales ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, and maintaining a healthy cash flow. This is not just about chasing overdue payments - it's about building long-term, trusting relationships with clients, ensuring smooth processes, and securing repeat business. The ability to quickly resolve queries and build rapport with clients will be key in this role. This is a remote working role, offering the flexibility to work from home, but you will need to be proactive and self-motivated to manage your time and meet targets. Strong Excel skills (particularly VLOOKUPs and pivot tables) are essential for efficiently managing and reporting on the ledger. You will be joining a team of X5 who all have been with the business for a number of years. Key Responsibilities: Ledger Reconciliation: Ensure the accuracy and reconciliation of the sales ledger, keeping accounts up to date and identifying any discrepancies promptly Building Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and resolve any payment issues efficiently Make regular outbound calls to customers to ensure payments are received on time and follow up on overdue invoices Investigate and resolve inbound queries from clients regarding payment issues in a professional and timely manner Work closely with internal teams, including Customer Service and Finance, to ensure seamless credit control processes and quick resolution of issues Use advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) to track payments, generate reports, and provide accurate insights into the financial status of accounts Provide reports and updates on aged debt and cash flow status Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and payment details Skills and Experience: Proven experience in a Credit Control or similar role, with a focus on ledger reconciliation and cash flow management Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data manipulation) Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to maintain a positive, professional rapport with clients Strong communication skills, both verbal and written A proactive approach to resolving issues and meeting deadlines Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure Experience with accounting software is a plus Application: If you are an experienced Credit Controller with strong Excel skills and a proven ability to build lasting relationships with clients, we want to hear from you Please apply with your most up-to-date CV.
