What do you do? Purpose of the role Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with company standards, while supporting the Head of Operations in driving continuous improvement in stock accuracy, order fulfilment, and operational efficiency. Maintain high levels of organisation, quality control, and safety within the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate order processing to uphold exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Warehouse operations & stock management Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching goods. Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy. Ensure all materials are stored safely and in line with company procedures. Manage replenishment processes to ensure the availability of stock for order fulfilment. Ensure quality standards are upheld from unloading, through to storage, packing and dispatch. Ensure all warehouse documentation is maintained to high standards and in compliance with operational policies. Team leadership & development Lead, mentor, and support a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring clear communication of roles and responsibilities. Conduct regular team briefings to communicate performance targets, updates, and safety instructions. Provide training and development opportunities to improve team capability and engagement. Ensure a high-performance culture through effective performance management and feedback. Health & safety compliance Promote and enforce a strong health & safety culture within the warehouse. Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with company safety procedures and the law. Investigate and report accidents, near-misses, and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions where necessary. Ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and material handling tools. Customer service & order fulfilment Ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, and dispatching of customer orders. Work closely with the transport and customer service teams to resolve order-related issues. Monitor and improve key warehouse performance indicators, including DSI, DRI & QIT. Ensure that goods are packaged in accordance with company and customer requirements to minimise damage. Who are you? Key skills/qualifications Proven experience in warehouse team leading. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate a team. Knowledge of warehouse health and safety regulations and best practices. Experience with stock control systems and inventory management. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Forklift licence desirable – training will be given.
