We are looking for highly motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to join our development team as we build the latest innovation from Strategic Imperatives; The Fibre Cafe, a unified API to the UK’s fibre ecosystem. Being built as a cloud native serverless SaaS product on AWS, The Fibre Cafe

Responsibilities
* Help design and implement infrastructure using IaC tools (e.g. Pulumi, Ansible) to support scalable and efficient deployments.
* Collaborate with senior engineers to automate and improve infrastructure processes.
* Work with CI/CD tools (e.g. Bitbucket) to ensure smooth, automated deployments.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues within CI/CD pipelines.
* Contribute to improving development and deployment workflows and best practice through automation and container management.
* Monitor infrastructure health using tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, and Postman.
* Participate in proactive issue detection and help resolve incidents in real-time.
* Collaborate on improving operational efficiency by reducing manual tasks.
* Use the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence) to track tasks, collaborate with the team, and document processes.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing input and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Experience Required
Must have:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
* 1-3 years of experience in a DevOps, System Administration, or similar role.
* Strong problem-solving mindset with a “can-do” attitude.
* Ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile team environment.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
* Passionate about continuous learning and professional growth.
* Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Good-to-have:
* Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.).
* Basic understanding of Cloud Platforms (AWS preferred, but open to others like Azure or GCP).
* Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
* Awareness of scripting languages (Bash, Ruby, Node.js, Python, or TypeScript).
* Experience with containerisation (Docker) is a plus.
* Basic knowledge of any monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Postman, etc.) is advantageous.
* Familiarity with configuration management (Puppet, Ansible, etc.) is a bonus.
* Basic understanding of database management (SQL, PostgreSQL, Redis) is helpful
