A progressive opportunity has arisen for a senior clinical fellow in Fertility within the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Salisbury NHSFT. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the fertility team with the opportunity to train in all aspects of fertility. Salisbury Fertility Centre is an HFEA registered Assisted Conception unit that offers a full range of assisted conception. The post would be ideal for someone wishing to gain experience in assisted conception techniques. The unit is recognised for training in management of the infertile couple and in assisted conception by the British Fertility Society.
Main duties of the job
The post is aimed at a senior, highly skilled and motivated applicant and offers an exciting opportunity to undertake training in sub-specialty while maintaining general Obstetrics & Gynaecology skills - the post requires some service provision including being part of a 1:8 out of hours on call rota for Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
This post is initially for 6 months but there may be opportunity to extend for longer depending on the needs of the department.
Working for our organisation
Salisbury NHSFT O&G department is a forward thinking department with an active outpatient hysteroscopy service offering diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy. It also boasts an active gynaeoncology MDT, a regional multidisciplinary vulval skin service, a new menopause service and undertakes complex laparoscopic procedures, including TLH.
Salisbury fertility centre is a dedicated, self-contained unit, located within the hospital. It is an HFEA licensed centre providing assisted conception to both private and NHS patients covering a large geographical area of Wiltshire, Dorset, West Hampshire and military bases. The service is led by two experienced consultants, supported by a highly qualified team of embryologists and specialist nurses.
Salisbury District Hospital is a medium sized district general with approximately 470 beds and 2500 deliveries per year. The post requires some service provision, including being part of a full-shift rota 1:7 out of hours with consultant support.

1. Equivalent of ST4+ level of training as per the RCOG matrix
2. Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
Experience
Essential criteria
1. Evidence of wide experience and a high level of competence in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the NHS. Evidence of experience in Fertility within the NHS and to demonstrate ambition to pursue this subspecialty (3)
2. Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems: demonstrates clear, logical thinking/analytical approach (3)
3. Knowledge and application of up to date evidence based practice (3)
4. Experience in fertility and evidence of career intentions in fertility (3)
