Laser Cutting Commissioning Engineer | Global travel required | Permanent | Up to £47,000
We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to set up stand-alone machines or an entire production line ready for use and deliver training to the operators at customer sites.
This is an exciting role where you will be working away and TRAVEL anywhere in the world for 3 weeks at a time. Following the installation of the machines, it will be your responsibility to set up Laser Cutting machines after installation and work with the operators on site. After 3 weeks, you will travel home and have 1 week off before returning to the site or traveling to a different site, depending on the size of the job.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with the Project Coordinator on the commissioning work to be performed on-site and the set schedule.
2. Commission laser cutting machines.
3. Coordinate with the Site Supervisor and/or Senior Installation Engineer regarding handover of installation work.
4. Commission the machine based on the Acceptance Protocol, including starting the machine after installation.
5. Check the machine for correct connection of all parts (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and software).
6. Act as the point of contact for technical aspects during commissioning at the customer location, providing feedback to the Project Coordinator.
7. Identify bottlenecks, both technical and planning, to the Project Coordinator.
8. Perform various test runs for production based on the Acceptance Protocol.
9. Solve technical problems.
10. Record and upload all machine parameters to the PC at the time of transfer to the customer.
11. Provide instruction and training to machine operators about the operation and maintenance of the machine.
12. Assess the level of knowledge of the machine operator and give feedback to the Project Coordinator.
13. Focus on Process Improvement, Quality, reporting, and Safety.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and electrical systems.
2. Experience and knowledge of laser cutting machines.
3. Previous experience working as a Commissioning Engineer.
4. Experienced in root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
5. Experience working on a range of electrical and mechanical breakdowns repair of plant, machinery, and services.
6. Ability to interpret and follow electrical drawings and schedules.
7. Willing to travel and work away (with a compensation package).
8. NVQ or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
