You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support, helping students to overcome challenges and succeed academically and socially. Key Responsibilities of SEN Support Worker: Providing one-on-one and small group support: Assist students with their learning and development, using evidence-based strategies to help them achieve their goals. Implementing individual education plans (IEPs): Work with teachers to develop and implement IEPs that address the specific needs of each student. Supporting classroom activities: Help create an inclusive and positive learning environment by supporting classroom activities and managing behaviour. Encouraging social and emotional development: Assist students in developing social skills and emotional resilience, promoting positive interactions and self-regulation techniques. Monitoring progress: Keep detailed records of students’ progress and behaviour, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties. Collaborating with external agencies: Work with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students and their families. Requirements of Special Educational Needs Support Worker (SEN SW): Previous experience as a Support Worker with Special Educational Needs experience. A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
