Part-Time Accounting Assistant (20 hours/week)
Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Assistant to support our team with day-to-day financial tasks. This standalone role is ideal for someone who is proactive, organised, and looking to work in a flexible, part-time capacity. You will be responsible for handling accounts payable and receivable, assisting with credit control, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle day-to-day accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and bank reconciliations.
* Credit control, including sending payment reminders and following up with clients.
* Enter financial transactions into accounting softwareensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Prepare and maintain organised records of all financial documents, invoices, and receipts.
* Support the Director with basic financial reporting, including preparing summaries and spreadsheets.
* Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve queries related to billing or payments.
* Ensure all financial processes are carried out in line with company policies and relevant regulations.
* Provide general administrative support to the Director as needed.
Experience & Skills
* Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role is preferred.
* Comfortable using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero.
* Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks independently.
* Confident communication skills for dealing with clients and suppliers.
* A proactive and dependable approach with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
* Flexibility to work 20 hours per week, with some adaptability around scheduling.
