Job Title: Cover Supervisor (Ad Hoc/Part-Time) Location: Southampton Pay Rate: £90 - £130 per day (Depending on experience) Start date: Immediate/Easter 2025 Contract type: Full-time Permanent / Part-time (flexible for the right candidate) Are you passionate about supporting young learners in a primary school environment? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a flexible and dedicated Cover Supervisor (CS) to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Southampton. About the Role: As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will step into the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher to deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment for primary school students. Cover Supervisor (CS) Responsibilities: Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment. Deliver pre-set lesson plans and provide guidance to students as required. Encourage positive behaviour and maintain classroom discipline in line with school policies. Support students in their learning activities and provide one-to-one or group assistance when needed. Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of learning for all students. Work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where applicable, providing additional support and encouragement. Monitor student progress and report any concerns to relevant school staff. Cover Supervisor (CS) Requirements: Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a classroom or similar setting. SEN experience is a bonus but not essential. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students. Adaptability and flexibility to work in different classes and age groups. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A genuine passion for education and supporting student development. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
