We are looking for an Interim Security Analyst to join our Group Technology, Information Security team. This role is Hybrid with the ability to work from offices in Milton Keynes, Dunstable & Leighton Buzzard area 1-2 days per week as required.
You will carry out regular operational activities to manage and assess the Connells Group security posture as part of the Security Analyst team, including:
* Performing security control checks and assuring appropriate controls are in place and are operating effectively.
* Compliance status monitoring and documentation.
* Support for security investigations and incidents.
* Security-related support for the Group Technology Team and the wider business.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out security control tasks to schedule, recording results and escalating when appropriate.
* Day to day security support for the Group Technology team and the wider business e.g. reviewing website access requests, assessing anti-virus compliance position, reviewing suspicious emails.
* Support of security investigation activities including the analysis of and response to threat intelligence.
* Address security alerts reported through 3rd parties, e.g. our Managed Security Service Provider, to ensure tickets are investigated and resolved within SLA's.
* Produce and maintain security process documentation and MI.
* Report regularly on progress/issues.
* Provide support to the other members of the Security team as required.
* Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and highlighting security risks.
Experience & skills required:
* Experience of Security-related activities in an IT Security function setting or equivalent.
* Good analytical skills, with a focus for detail and accuracy.
* Working knowledge of security principles.
* Knowledge of key technology components, such as servers, networking, core desktop products, email and internet.
* Awareness of current and emerging security threats.
* Willingness to develop knowledge in Cyber, Information Security, Risk and Data Protection areas.
* Good communications skills, and able to explain security terminology to non-technical people.
* Ability to work independently, with integrity & manage time effectively as well as working effectively within the Security team.
* Ability to manage multiple activities.
* Be proactive, organised and demonstrate a willingness to take ownership of actions.
* Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Willingness to work outside of core hours on occasion.
* Be happy to flex between activities to support changing priorities as required.
