Job Overview Specialty Doctor Obstetrics & Gynaecology Glan Clwyd Hospital Fixed term post for 12 months Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) wish to appoint a Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) to be based at Glan Clwyd Hospital, North Wales, to join our friendly and supportive O&G team. These posts are an expansion on our current workforce to develop the service further with the recently opened SuRNICC at Glan Clwyd Hospital. As part of the Health Board’s strategic collaboration with Bangor University, individuals with an interest in teaching and research who can demonstrate and agree a possible contribution to the School can be considered and nominated for recognition through the University’s process for granting honorary titles and help to deliver our shared vision for the North Wales School of Medicine and Health. Main duties of the job This post supports the Registrar tier, so previous experience at Registrar level is essential. The post can include 2 sessions per week dedicated to an academic interest, either study for Postgraduate Certificate Medical Education, or research, depending on the individual interests and service needs. The Womens’ services division provides a full range of Maternity and Gynaecology services, and as part of the medical team at Glan Clwyd Hospital you will make an important contribution to the provision of treatment & care to the women of North Wales. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities The post is fixed term for 12 months. Although not a formal training post, this would particularly suit a doctor wishing to develop their career towards entering specialist training or obtaining CESR. The post is potentially extendable at the end of the fixed term subject to performance review at the end of 6 and 12 months respectively. Person specification Experience Essential criteria Appropriate experience in training grade posts at Clinical fellow level or above – minimum 3 years Minimum 6 months at Registrar level.
