Are you an experienced Research Scientist? Do you have experience in molecular biology techniques and recombinant protein production from mammalian cells and associated analytical techniques such as DNA preparations and sequence analysis, tissue culture, preparative and analytical chromatography methods, and SDS-PAGE?
We are recruiting for a Research Scientist to join our clients team generating innovative antibody and protein engineering solutions for new drug candidates. As a laboratory-based research scientist, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality biologics and analytical data thereby enabling progression of molecules from the earliest stages of drug discovery all the way to drug candidates.
This client has established pedigree for antibody discovery and engineering and this role sits in the new modalities and therapeutics department within discovery research.
This role is offered on a full time 12 months contract basis initially.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the optimal design, selection and delivery of molecules that support advancement of therapeutic antibody projects
2. Analyse, interrogate, interpret and document data
3. Liaise with project leaders and communication of data through presentations and written reports
4. Innovate or identify new and relevant technologies for potential evaluation and implementation
Qualifications / Experience:
5. A PhD in biochemistry or a relevant biological discipline
6. A good understanding of antibodies and their structures
7. Experience in standard molecular biology techniques and recombinant protein production from mammalian cells and associated analytical techniques (DNA preparations and sequence analysis, tissue culture, preparative and analytical chromatography methods, SDS-PAGE)
8. Experience in working with electronic lab notebooks and other relevant software (GraphPad, Sequencher, Snapgene, Pymol) is desirable
9. You will have a strong work ethic, a drive to deliver and the ability to multi-task and thrive in an exciting and collaborative research environment
10. Excellent communication and organisational skills
In 2025, this site will relocate from Slough to Windlesham Surrey
