A leading Civil Engineering contractor based in Suffolk, but operating throughout the UK. They deliver high-quality civil engineering projects in various sectors including highways, bridges, infrastructure, flood defence, energy, and rail. Your new role
Due to an increase in workload, you will join the team as a Site engineer and will specialise in Site setting out for large infrastructure/road schemes in the Suffolk area.
Responsibilities:
* Perform setting out tasks using total stations, GPS equipment, and traditional methods such as profiles, batter rails, and pegs.
* Read and review construction drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Conduct basic take-offs for project planning and estimation.
* Raise technical queries with designers and other client team members to clarify project details.
* Carry out inspections and testing to ensure the works conform to design and specifications.
* Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental policies, as well as company procedures.
* Understand commercial aspects of projects, including the difference between cost and value
What you'll need to succeed
* A B.Sc., HND, HNC qualification, or equivalent.
* Previous civil engineering experience, especially in highways schemes with a main contractor.
* A CSCS card.
* An SMSTS card and ICE membership.
* A full UK driving licence, as the role involves travel throughout our Eastern Region.
* A First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
